Kindle Fire App Crazy Flasher crashes if the user selects “Flash Led” or “Morse Code” options

Bug discovered on 12/28/11

Description:

There is an application available in the Kindle Fire App store named “Crazy Flasher”.

This application requests access to your phone’s flashlight and vibration feature (?).

If the user launches this application, they are presented with four options at the top of the screen.  If the user selects 2 of the 4 options at the top of the screen, and then toggles the On/Off button underneath them, the application will crash.

This occurs with the  “Flash Led” and “Morse Code” features.  This bug was logged on Get Satisfaction.

Repro Steps:

1.     Download the application Crazy Flasher from the Kindle Fire App store
2.     Launch the application Crazy Flasher on a Kindle Fire
3.     Select either “Flash Led” or “Morse Code” on the top of the screen
4.     Toggle the button underneath them to “On”

Result:  On a Kindle Fire, if the user downloads an application named “Crazy Flasher”, the application will crash if the user turns on the “Flash Led” or “Morse Code” features.

Expected:  That the “Crazy Flasher” application for the Kindle Fire will not crash if the user turns on the “Flash Led” or “Morse Code” features.

NOTE:  Please see attached screenshots

From the Kindle Fire App Store, download and launch an application called "Crazy Flasher".

Upon launching "Crazy Flasher", the user will land on this screen.  Select either the "Flash Led" or "Morse Code" options at the top of the screen.  Then press the "Off" button you see in the screenshot above...

Ba-da-doom, ba-da-bing.  The application crashes.  Why would an app that requests access to your phone's flashlight be available for the Kindle Fire?
